The Sixth Sunday after Pentecost – Divine Service

God’s Word accomplishes miraculous change.  God declares that the barren womb of Sarah shall be great with child.  Jesus, inseparably the Word of God, declares those once hostile and alienated to be holy and blameless.  The counsels of God, once couched in mystery, now declare the glory, wisdom, and hope of Jesus.  Where the Word of God is taught in its truth and purity, we should be still, listen and believe God’s life-changing Word.

Collect of the Day
O Lord, grant us the Spirit to hear Your Word and know the one thing needful that by Your Word and Spirit we may live according to Your will; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
