Lutheran Women’s Missionary League

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League strives to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League meets on the third Wednesday in the months of January, April, July and October. The group meets in the church multi-purpose room beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The purpose of the LWML is to assist each woman of the congregation in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.

The group has an opening devotion, a Bible Study, and business meeting. The group collects “mites” to support mission projects in our district and around the world. Mites are loose change or bills that women collect in their Mite Boxes.

LWML began in the St. Peter congregation in 1943. The goals of LWML are mission education, inspiration, projects, and service. They gather quarterly “mites” which help fund mission projects in our distirct and around the world.

The group also attends Donation Day at Concordia Theological Seminary, collects food and clothing for the seminary, attends zone rallies, attends Indiana District and National LWML conventions, and organizes Cottage Bible Studies for the women of the congregation. They also sew quilts forLutheran World Relief.

All women of St. Peter are automatically members of LWML and are welcome to attend activities which are listed in the church bulletin or newsletter.
