St. Peter Lutheran School is implementing a new school-wide incentive program. Students will be able to earn Wildcat Bucks for participating in various extra-curricular activities, maintaining acceptable grades, demonstrating good attendance habits, completing Accelerated Reader goals, completing community service hours, and demonstrating faithful church and Sunday School attendance. Parents can help their child(ren) gain Wildcat Bucks by attending PTL meetings and other parent meetings, as well as helping out at various school functions. Teachers may also reward students with Wildcat Bucks for various classroom activities. Late and/or missing work, poor grades, and misconduct may cost a student Wildcat Bucks. Students will then be able to “cash in” their Wildcat Bucks quarterly for various rewards.
In first and second grade the Wildcat Bucks Program will also coincide with our regular classroom discipline plan using sticks.
Each day a student receives 4 sticks. The goal is that the child keeps all four sticks all day. However, a child may lose a stick for repeated misbehavior. If a child loses a stick, he or she will need to stand on the line for five minutes at recess. If a child loses a second stick, he or she will need to stand on the line for ten minutes. With the third stick, the time increase to fifteen minutes, and if a child loses all four sticks in one day, he or she must stay after school at a time arranged by the teacher and parents. At the end of the day the sticks will be placed in his or her index card box, and four new sticks will be given to the child the next day.
At the end of the week, the student will trade the sticks in for Wildcat Bucks.
All 20 sticks will be worth $5.
15-19 sticks will be worth $4
10-14 sticks will be worth $3
5-9 sticks will be worth $2
1-4 sticks will be worth $1
Other Wildcat Bucks may be awarded by the teacher throughout the week in recognition of various accomplishments.
