About Endeavor

Endeavor is a youth led youth group based on service. All youth in grades 6-12 are part of the Endeavor group. Young people meet twice a month. Each meeting includes Bible study, a review of what the group has been working on, and time to work on the service project they have designed. The group is youth led, meaning youth lead the Bible study, they decide what needs they can meet in our community, and then they plan a service project to help that need. There are alduts avaialbe as mentors to guide the group but they are just that guides-not leaders.

We launched our Endeavor group at St. Peter on Sunday, April 3, 2011. We hope to see this group grow and devolp in the months and years to come.

Endeavor Pledge:
Trusting Jesus Christ for strength, I promise to pray to him every day, to study God's Word, to serve others, to share my faith, and endeavor to live a Christian life.

Endeavor Principles:
Pray: Connect with God as we discover our significance in his plan.
Study: Learn how God equips people as we prepare to serve others.
Serve: Respect one another as we serve together in Jesus Christ's cause.
Share: Practice accountability as we share God's love with the world.
Live: Take risks and fail forward as we follow Jesus' leading in our lives.

A thought:
Consider this definiton for "endeavor": to exert oneself to do or effect something; make an effort; strive.

If young peole are willing to exert themselves in order to do or effect something think of the amazing things they can accomplish!

Projects

Endeavor youth have complete their first two service projects, serving our congregation. One group of students provided child care during the May voter's meeting. Another group helped with the flower planting done by the school children on the last day of school.

The new upcoming project is very exciting to the young people. The need that they are serving is the "aging population in our community". The group has decided to put on a "prom" for those who are a bit "wiser" than they are. The group has come up with four different areas to work on. Additional information will be posted on the St. Peter Youth Facebook page.

The "Fall Ball" for those members of our congregation who are age 65 and wiser will be held on Sunday, September 25. Doors will open at 2:00pm and festivities will be from 2:30-4:30pm in the school gymnasium. There will be music, dancing, games, snacks, and entertainment. Invitations will be going out soon!
